Explanation As Books Abby's Vampire (Motor City Vampires #1)
The reasons I chose to read this are obvious.
I will try to remain impartial. But after a childhood of never finding personalized pens with my name. It is about time we see some
around.
There are a few issues I have with this story. First, I appreciate that the author had a foreword mentioning she tries to prevent typos, but if you point out any to her she will correct them and publish a new edition. However, this should not happen. If you are thinking of publishing, find yourself an OCD friend and make them read it. The time to correct typos is before publishing, not in new editions. I wish I had paid attention to which edition was the latest one. There were several glaring typos in the edition I read, I just ignored them because I thought I was reading an older edition.
Which leads me to my next issue. I admit, the mistake is on me. I should never assume. But I honestly assumed the title Abby's Vampire was changed. It isn't a real title. Yes, I know this sounds hypocritical because I only read this story because of the title. I only read this because my name is Abby. A very small percentage of the world is actually named Abby. If I weren't named Abby, I would never take this book seriously. Abby's Vampire sounds like a working title used while the project was being developed. Not a ready to be published title. The more I think about this the more it bothers. The more I think the author published this series before she was ready.
Rushing to publish aside, I actually really enjoyed this. Part of that is because of my really low expectations. But part of that is also the actual story. It was different than most vampire romances. It wasn't bogged down by a lot of back story or details of vampire society. In fact, my favorite part was the way the author bounced back and forth between present day and the past. Normally I hate when this is done, but I actually really enjoyed it in this book. It wasn't tedious, disruptive, or boring.
I will not be continuing with this series only because I loathe the character in book 2. How he got away with not getting in trouble for what he did boggles my mind. He is to blame for everything that happened in the first book. But instead of being held accountable, he apparently gets told, "It is okay because you really love her" and gets to be book 2. Well, Nope. You are being punished Enri, because this Abby is done with you.

Vampire Romance with a Twist of Suspense and Intrigue.Abbys Vampire is a good start to a new series, Motor City Vampires, by Anjela Renee. There was enough background information provided to answer questions, but not so much that it detracted from the main story. The use of flashbacks to explain past events and how those events shaped what was currently happening was handled beautifully.Abby is a single woman who works from home. She tends to keep to herself and doesnt believe any man would beThis was a really good first book I loved it. Abby had know idea that Javon was a vamp and he didn't want to scare her off so he asked her out Abby who was self-conscious and shy really liked him but she wanted to take things slow she thought he was to good to be true and she couldn't understand what

The best thing I can say about this book is that I actually finished it.This book had so much potential in terms of storyline, but it was decimated by a juvenile writing style and poor editing. And I will limit my comments to that.
