Seraph of the End, Volume 2 takes place in a world where a virus killed all humans over the age of 13. Vampires have arisen out of the earth and taken over. Our main character, Yuichiro Hyakuya, lost his adopted family while trying to escape the vampires who held them as livestock to provide regular blood donations. Now it is 4 years later and he is beginning his training to become a member of the Moon Demon Company, a vampire extermination unit within the Japanese Imperial Demon Army. That'sKagami really writes/draws some impressive action scenes.
More reviews (and no fluff) on the blog http://surrealtalvi.wordpress.com/ I still haven't decided if I like Seraph of the End or not. The plot is interesting, there are a lot of mysteries, and it looks like we are going to have a grand cast of characters and abilities. The secondary characters are interesting but I still haven't bonded to main character Yuichiro Hyakuya. Most of the time, I am wishing the scenes with him would end sooner since he's a one note pony right now.Story: Four years
3.75 ★Marginally better than the last volume. Still not a huge fan of Yu as your typical stubborn, hot-headed shounen protagonist, but we got to see more of Mika and Yoichi so thats a bonus. The characters finally got their cursed gear in this volume but I felt like it all happened a bit too easily considering how young and inexperienced they are. Nevertheless, the ending set us up for some exciting action so hopefully the next volume delivers.
Yuichiro reminds me of a mix of Goku from Saiyuki and Rin from Blue Exorcist so I kinda like him a whole bunch. I'm really curious to see what will happen with (view spoiler)[ Mika now that he is a vampire and was turned into one against his will (hide spoiler)]Interesting read. I'm enjoying it so far.
Yuichirou gets another companion and would-be rival in the ranks of the Moon Demon Company and wielders of cursed gear, more companion than he ever wanted. Shiho Kimizuki, the telephone pole with a nasty look turns out to have a much sofer side than the antagonistic Yu ever realized once he gets to know him. Plus Yus prickly and unpredictable mentor, Guren Ichinose is having problems of his own with the upper ranks of the Imperial Demon Army, problems which could spell out trouble for Yu and
They're introducing a tsundere solely for Yuu.I am so not here for juvenile crushes. I'm here for Yuu's character development and his impending doom if choosing Mika or his new family. If he get to have both, it'll be a miracle.
