Representaion In Pursuance Of Books Bruidsvlucht
Een meeslepend verhaal, gebaseerd op historische werkelijkheid: in 1953 werd The Last Great Air Race London-Christchurch gehouden. Identify Books During Bruidsvlucht

I loved every page of it. It's written so well, the characters felt like real women to me. During the whole story I felt as if I was standing there right beside them. The perfect read for a holiday in New Zealand.
I really liked this story a lot. I saw the movie first and discovered it came from a book. The book, of course, included so much more of the story. Highly recommend this book.

This book is by a Dutch author, written in Dutch and first published in 2007. The English translation seems quite serviceable. I first became aware of the story by seeing the motion picture adaptation, which was a Dutch film with the spoken dialogue in Dutch, so watching with subtitles was necessary. The story takes place in New Zealand, and the movie (which I highly recommend seeing) was filmed there --- a lot of the outdoor scenery in it is breathtakingly stunning. I was impressed with the
I enjoyed the book better than the movie....I was much more able to get into the characters. Very descriptive and the insight into life for the Dutch Immigrants in NZ was really interesting.
It begins with a plane race in 1953, one plane brought with it the brides from the Netherlands to join their fiances. I was a little young to remember this, but I asked some one a little older about this and he remembered it straight away. What fascinated me was that it was completed non stop for the travellers, the plane did stop for refuelling but as far as I remember the passengers only got off once for a 30 minute stretch and also a brief stop in Australia. If you have flown non stop from
A saga through the lives of three women and one man who linked them all. Not my usual type of book but I enjoyed the story.
