Thorough enjoyed it. Reminds me that the Irish are closer cousins to Americans than to Europeans. Actually changed my rating from 3 to 4 stars when I realized there was other books in the series (and after getting an inquiry from the author as to why I only gave 3 stars! Jeez, I promise to give more thought to my reviews from now on!) and I did not know it at the time of reading. While you possibly could read them out of sequence, I personally don't recommend. I now look forward to reading the

Franklins PrivateersLuke Ryan was not known to me and his story is worth the telling. The author enlivened this historical fiction with good characters and impressive exploits. I especially enjoyed the final part that let us know what parts were real including Ben Franklin and Luke Ryan.
