Chronicle During Books Sound Bites: A Rock & Roll Love Story
Renee Evans has a knack for trouble. After walking in on her best friend and boyfriend in bed together, twenty-five year-old Renee flees sunny Los Angeles and her dream job as a music journalist and returns to her hometown of Boston – only to meet Dylan Cavallari, the mysterious, aspiring musician who lives in her apartment building. Dylan’s piercing gaze and womanizing demeanor make him exactly the type of guy that Renee should steer clear of – which is most likely the reason she falls for him. But when Renee’s troublesome ex comes back and threatens to drive her and Dylan apart, Renee is forced to face her past and save her relationship with Dylan before it's too late.Sound Bites dramatizes what happens when Renee finds herself caught between a painful past and an uncertain future. Happiness turns out to be within her grasp, but it all depends on whether she can trust herself enough to make the right decisions. Sound Bites is a novel about love, friendship, betrayal, forgiveness, and the power of music to help you find your way.

I will admit, I got sucked into reading this one!! I was browsing through my store on my e-reader and this book was one that they recommended for me, but being the studious reader that I am, I had to check it out on Goodreads and see what other readers were saying about it and low and behold there was a "Read Now" button so I hit it and started reading and when I had finished the excerpt (no I didn't realize I wasn't going to get to read the whole thing when I hit the button) I had to know what2.75 Stars.I have to be honest and say that Sound Bites is probably the first HarperImpulse title I haven't totally enjoyed. Don't get me wrong, it is OK and if you have a few hours to fill you could do alot worse. But I feel that the story has so much potential that is still screaming for release. I have to say that it does contain the best "break the ice" line I have ever read, in the fact that it is also the worst "break the ice" line I have ever read as well...."Nice child-molester van you
Love the cover for this book!!Rock Star Romance - my favorite word combination so I was excited to read this one. It was a good read but I didn't love it. There was quite a detailed and well written build up to the crux of the story of Renee and Dylan but once together it was rushed and we didn't get to revel in it.It was however quite a convincing contemporary romance and the characters of Dylan and Renee were very well written.
Rachel? I really love your book on Sound Bites: A Rock and Roll Love Story. This book was the best Rock and Roll love story I ever read. The story had Friendship, Romance, Heartbreaks, and finally and at least Forgiveness. I love how two people who love the same thing fell in love. I love how she and him got engaged with a Baby coming along. I was touched when I was reading this amazing book. You done a really good job on this book. I am going to read it again.
Renee, Maybe is not an acceptable answer. Thats like saying youre a little bit pregnant and or caught a touch of the breast cancer. Deep dpwn, you know whether or not you love someone. This book popped up while I was looking at KAs Rock Chicks. As all my friends on her know I am a sucker for a great Cover! And I really liked this one. This book was ok. Short but Ok. It was kind of YA but they were mid 20s. Renee and Justine have been best friends for over 10 years. They even moved from Boston
My Summary:Renee is a music journalist living in LA with her childhood best friend. They both moved out there to go to UCLA and decided to stay once they graduated. Then Renee got involved with a co-worker, but she had some doubts about their relationship. One day, after Renee comes home from an out of town trip she finds her best friend and boyfriend in bed together. She flees the scene and moves home to Boston. Once in Boston, she finds an apartment and is searching for a job. She meets Dylan,
Four & 1/2 STARS--Don't you enjoy a book that keeps you up at night? Then you wake up early to go finish reading, not caring if you're the least bit tired. That's what "Sound Bites" was for me. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters, how they met (hilarious car accident though I'm sure they didn't think so), Renee's back story as to why she moved (best friend sleeping with her boyfriend) and Dylan.Dylan.I enjoyed his character especially when Renee acted pigheaded and he let her stew on her own
