Relation As Books Enslavement (One Bright Future #1)

"One world. One currency. One bright future."

That's the promise made by OneEarth Bank after a global economic collapse--but only for those who accept the insertion of a commerce chip.

When Rielle's parents refuse to comply, government officials tear her family apart. As punishment for her parent's crimes, Rielle is forced into a Community Service Contract--a legalized form of slavery--and sold to a wealthy, abusive banker.

The Banker's secrets hold the key to Rielle's freedom, but will she risk prison or even death to escape and search for her family?

Notice Appertaining To Books Enslavement (One Bright Future #1)
*I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review!*I really enjoyed this one. The main character, Rielle, drove me a bit crazy at times, but overall I could identify with her. Only one thing that I felt could have been addressed more (and maybe cuz I'm a mother) was the loss of her baby sister, not just her teenage brother. If it was my little sister (or daughter!) I'd go INSANE not knowing what happened to her! I wouldn't be able to think of anything else!An interesting story idea with

Dystopia Meets Realistic Fiction Set in the future, after our world has gone through an economic disaster and been rebuilt with a new government and a mandatory type of currency, this book felt more like a realistic fiction piece than a dystopia.  The world is basically the same as it was before, but with the difference of everyone needing to be chipped and that's how things are paid for.  Like any government, you have those for it, those against it and those that take things as they are without

At first it was really hard to get into; the writing style was just different than what I was used to. To be honest, I did not like this book for the first half. But I really wanted to give it a chance, so I kept with it. Eventually I kind of got used to the way the writing worked and the story really pulled in all of my attention. I liked how the story progressed later on in the book, but the difference in writing style was still a bit weird for me . The ending was pretty fast-paced and

Melinda Friesen was born in Portland, Oregon. She makes her home in the wilds of Manitoba, Canada. Living in an igloo wasn't easy. Wait. She didn't actually live in an igloo, but that would make this story much more interesting. Among her accomplishments are surviving -40 degree weather, gestating four human being inside her body. And she writes too! Melinda Friesen writes short stories and novels

"One world. One currency. One bright future." That is what the world has become. Now people have a chip in their hands and there is no physical cash. You walk into a store, select what you want and walk out. As you walk out the chip records what you purchased. Some people have resisted getting the chip like Rielle's parents. Without the chip there are no longer jobs to have and no money for food and supplies. But as resistors, Rielle's parents are taken and she is separated from her big brother

I loved this book, I couldn't stop reading it, it's a constant page turner and a tragic but heart warming story about a society full of wrong and people fighting for what's right. The main character Rielle is great and I immediatl, felt for her hardships and love her spunk and courage! When I got to the end of the book I immediately wanted more. Thank you for writing this wonderful book!

A friend who loves YA lent it to me-wasnt sure it was my thing but I actually really enjoyed it. The characters had depth, the storyline was plausible 1and unpredictable. Quick read but hard to put down. Melinda Friesen should have a bright future-maybe even a movie!
