Interpretation In Pursuance Of Books Ocean's Daughter
Neona is an island where life and legends are a mix of good and unthinkable evil. Initiated into these legends from childhood, little Ina asked too many questions but over time grew to be a woman who silently questioned the beliefs and customs of her people. Even though she avoided crisis at all costs, her life blazed from one crisis to another. Just when she finally finds reprieve, her sanctuary is broken. On her daughter’s fifteenth birthday, Ina discovers an exquisite shell by the sea shore. The same day, a stranger mysteriously arrives on island. Little did she know that this would herald the beginning of a harrowing threat to a secret island life as it had existed for centuries and lead to unprecedented turmoil for her family. Faced with what seems like insurmountable challenges as a mother and grandmother, Ina must make a heart wrenching choice in order to comply with tradition. Consumed by guilt, self-loathing and pain, she transforms into a rebel….----------------------------------------------------------------
“Your granddaughter has to go, so we can have peace here.”
Ina knew the only way people, dead or alive, left the island. The implication was clear to her. Arisa expected her to grasp the message. And she did. - Extract from Ocean’s Daughter

This was a different read for me. It took me a little while to get into it, but by the halfway point, I couldn't put it down. It had a lot of "life lessons" in it about: forgiveness, "letting go and letting God," appreciating the simple things in life as well as the important. I wish the ending had explained a little more, but other than that I really enjoyed this read. Especially loved the character development of Ina.Ocean's Daughter is a story that will resonate in ways with every reader. The relationships (mother-daughter, parents-child, best friends, lovers, community) are things we can all identify with. The protagonist is my favourite character. She was a woman who had received many knocks in life and had scars to show for them. I find myself cheering for her when she steps up, although in pain, to make a difference in the lives of people she had nothing to benefit from. It is a unique story set in

It was really goodread above. it was very interesting, and I enjoyed reading it. I also was able to find many stopping points for my busy life without becoming board with it.
Very poor writing with short uninspired sentences that sound like they were written by a 12 year old. Slow story with extremely boring middle section. I would not recommend to anyone.
Awesome book. SO MANY important life lessons, specifically about forgiveness. Also, I love the cover :)
