Let's get one thing straight - Ivy Wilde is not a heroine. In fact, she's probably the last witch in the world who you'd call if you needed a magical helping hand, regardless of her actual abilities. If it were down to Ivy, she'd spend all day every day on her sofa where she could watch TV, munch junk food and talk to her feline familiar to her heart's content. However, when a bureaucratic disaster ends up with Ivy as the victim of a case of mistaken identity, she's yanked very unwillingly into Arcane Branch, the investigative department of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. Her problems are quadrupled when a valuable object is stolen right from under the Order's noses. It doesn't exactly help that she's been magically bound to Adeptus Exemptus Raphael Winter. He might have piercing sapphire eyes and a body which a cover model would be proud of but, as far as Ivy's concerned, he's a walking advertisement for the joyless perils of too much witch-work.
And if he makes her go to the gym again, she's definitely going to turn him into a frog.

3.5 sassy-back-talking-starsThis is a lot of fun if you're in the mood for a light, flirty UF mystery. It's reminiscent of Charley Davidson but without the overdone police procedural trope. The characters are refreshing for UF, they are surprisingly not annoying or embarrassing! Unless the writer is Ilona Andrews, I usually have to be quite forgiving in order to enjoy a modern magic tale. While the plot isn't all that complex, I didn't guess whodunnit. The lack of world building was easilyThis was an ok read for me not brilliant but not terrible.World building was also nice and easy for a non Witch book loving person like me.This definitely pulled me out of my comfort zone, and I like to do that because sometimes you find an absolute gem of a book, unfortunately for me this wasn't one however I did enjoy it.Ivy and winter had some really good banter between each other and I love the fact that she was a lazy Witch, something that I would totally be.I'm not sure if I would rush out
Really funny, light hearted urban fantasy. Ivy is an original main character and has great chemistry with Rafe Winter. I adored Brutus!
A light and sometimes funny story but nothing I'd spend my precious audible credits on.
This was fun! The writing, the main characters, and the pacing are all excellent. As an additional bonus this book also features a magically-abled talking cat who is hilariously rude. It turns out you really might not want to know what your cat is thinking at all times.Unfortunately the 'whodunnit' mystery, for me, ended on a 'who cares?' note which kept me from rating this one higher. But the romance is a nice slow-burn with an undercurrent of chemistry between the two main leads. So all in
Have you ever read a character that you related to so well that you wondered if your life really is the Truman show and some author is creeping on you and writing fanfic of your life?Yeah I figured it was just me. Now Ive gone and made things awkward. Oh how I loved this book. Our main character, the lazy Ivy, is perfectly happy as a taxi driver, working until shes made enough to pay her bills then go home and binge watch her favorite show Enchantment. Enchantment sounds awesome btw, like
Ivy is a sassy,, confident, and most importantly smart witch...She is definitely getting added to my ever-growing book BFF list.....This book definitely got its five star rating based on the fact that these characters were absolutely fantastic! Not just Ivy but Winter as well, they just played off each other so well....The world was well developed yet simple (and I appreciate that)....There was definitely some chemistry between Ivy and Winter, it was slow burning (another thing I appreciated)
