3.5 stars :)This was a compulsively readable book... easy to fall into the story and be swept along with what was happening.It's a dual POV, some with Ellen's Voice and some with Saskia's. A couple times I had to re-read the first paragraph of another section to be sure who it was, only because I had been so caught up in Ellen/Saskia's previously that I missed the break where it switched places to the other person.At times Ellen seemed a bit too serene and over-analytical (sp?) for me and at

The Hypnotist Love Story by Liane Moriarty is a 2012 Berkley publication. After reading What Alice Forgot a little while back, I vowed to read anything I could find written by Liane Moriarty. Little by little I have been able to sneak one of her backlisted titles into my reading schedule. One thing about this author and her books, is that each one is special and very different. Yet, the style of writing has a signature that is unique to this author, and I cant quite find a way to describe it.

I really enjoyed this book; I thought it was well written and the characters were developed thoroughly, which is a mean feat for fiction writers in my opinion. There was also a 'food for thought' aspect to this book, it got me thinking about the human psyche and the art of hypnotherapy and how we as a species are so open to suggestion. I like Liane Moriartys writing a lot. Her characters are always somewhat off center, yet always very interesting and appealing in so many ways.
