I read this book. It's really lovely. The author is also the artist and the art is all original. It's about his own journey as an orphan in Haiti to being adopted and raised in America. It's a story of love and devotion and forgiveness and families.

A wonderful illustrated story that will teach children the value of family, to be kind, and to give back. Family is not always something you just have...sometimes it's something you find for yourself...or something that finds you.

An enchanting story for kids and adults alikeThis story and the accompanying illustrations are touching and very beautifully put together. As you read it's clear the author's story comes from the heart and personal experience which makes it all the more enchanting. The illustrations are wonderfully drawn with a certain magical quality. Ultimately the story about family and belonging is what lingers and is a great inspiration for kids and adults alike. Highly recommended.
