First Bitten (Alexandra Jones #1)
Walking home after a night out drowning her sorrows with her best friend, Carrie, Alexandra Jones stupidly takes a phone call from her cheating ex-boyfriend, Eddie, and in her anger hurls her phone into the forest before her.
But when Alex goes to retrieve her phone from the undergrowth, she and Carrie come face-to-face with a monster they never even knew existed, a Vârcolac (a nightmarish vampire-werewolf hybrid) and he's in search of fresh blood. The next thing Alex knows, she is staring at the impossibly handsome but mysterious Nathan who has helped bring her back to life, but not to the life she left.
To her horror, she discovers she has now become a blood-drinking Vârcolac herself and she is the only female of her kind, with the potential for breeding a whole new army of Vârcolacs if they can only track her down and press her into service.
And while Alex gets to know Nathan and his shape-shifting family as they offer her the protection she so desperately needs, unbeknown to all of them, the Vârcolacs are getting closer …
I was not sure what to expect from this book but was pleasantly surprised. I loved the story and the characters. It kept me interested. Even the cliffhanger at the end was awesome. The author did a great job with this book and I cannot wait for the next one.
OMG!!! I absolutely loved this book!!!! I couldn't put it down until I finished it. I liked the way that the relationship developed between Alex and Nate. My heart hurt for all that Alex had to go through and what she had to give up in the end to keep those that she loved safe. It was one of those books that you're like NNNNOOOOOO!!!!! IM NOT READY FOR IT TO BE OVER YET!!! when it ends. I am looking forward to more books in this series and I recommend this to everyone. Samantha you are an

I read this book in a few hours. I only stopped to eat which means that it is an intruiging book that I can't stop reading. I then downloaded the next one to see what happens next. I think that Alex would be thinking what everyone would be thinking in her position. I know that it is something that I can't wait for others to read so I can talk to them about this book.
I wasn't sure about this book on reading the synopsis but I was surprisingly pleased as I read it - I loved the characters and Nathan especially!
I was recommended this book by a friend, and what a good recommendation indeed! Within the first chapter, I was hooked and wanting to know more. More about the characters, more about their inner demons. Alex and Nathan have such good chemistry. Nathan is one of those characters that you share a love/hate relationship with! You get so frustrated with him sometimes and the things he says; thinking to yourself "Really Nathan? Was that comment necessary??." The wording took some getting used to
I loved this book! I loved Alex from the begining. Carrie is like Alex's sister they are each others yin and yang. They complete each other and Carrie was trying to get Alex to forget her lying, cheating scumbag boyfriend Eddie! Carrie feels a night out at the local pub is just what they need. On they way home Eddie calls begging for Alex to take him back and she gets so mad she tosses her phone in the woods. After her fit and druken clumziness they start to walk home, but she remembers her

My Thoughts: To be honest, I requested a free copy from Samantha Towle on Facebook in exchange for an honest review because I LOVE free books, and based on the cover, I was expecting to read another Twilight-esque vampire novel. Boy, was I surprised! Samantha creates a unique world of vampires, werewolves, and shape shifters that I hadnt expected. Add the fact that the story is set in England, where Samantha lives, and you have a wonderfully fresh setting and voice on the paranormal romanceI was not sure what to expect from this book but was pleasantly surprised. I loved the story and the characters. It kept me interested. Even the cliffhanger at the end was awesome. The author did a great job with this book and I cannot wait for the next one.
