This short story takes place the first October 31st after Chameleon Moon, Book 1.

Parole's devastating collapse left overwhelming damage, and a lot of dead. As the city's de facto leader, Evelyn Calliope does her best every day to hold everyone together, including herself. Now the sweet but sometimes-eerie Jenny Strings says she can speak to the deceased - and someone very important wants to talk to Evelyn. Unfortunately, where Jenny offers treats, Hans is up to his usual tricks. This ex-'ghost' has a brand-new body, and he's having way too much fun stretching his legs to let someone take his place as the Emerald Bar's resident poltergeist.

Some secrets are meant to be kept. Some are meant to be shared. And some should just stay buried.

Write-Up Based On Books Un-Dead (Chameleon Moon #1.5)

I hadn't realised I already read this (I think it may have been at the end of my copy of Chameleon Moon) and bought it. it was incredibly weird, but I think that's just how it goes with Jenny Strings I believe she goes by.Anyway, it was very well-written, and this author really knows how to write children. they do such a lovely job. i did absolutely enjoy reading this. it was relatable while being.... Parole (the city this series takes place in). 9.5/10 strongly recommend

I read this as part of Chameleon Moon, where it was included as a bonus in the end. A lovely little short. I'm starting to really take to the character of Jenny, who was only introduced quite late in Chameleon Moon. She's lovely and I hope to see more of her in later stories!
