This is a collection of three of Cameron Dokey's Once Upon a Time novels. I read a bunch of the Once Upon a Time novels several years ago, but I don't remember which ones. I don't think I read any of these three before though.BelleThis one is a Beauty and the Beast retelling. Overall, I enjoyed it, but having read Robin McKinley's various Beauty and the Beast stories, this story just doesn't come close to any of them. The first half of the story actually takes place well before Belle ever goesBELLE: I enjoyed this fractured fairytale very much. Even though it was a bit of a shorter story, and most of it was talking about her home and move, it was still fun and interesting.SUNLIGHT AND SHADOW: I absolutely disliked this book. It was totally weird and kind of dumb, the only thing that kept me going and that I actually liked was the one or two chapters that Lapin and Tern were together. So funny!! Otherwise I did not like it and found the whole; `love`s true song`and all the confusing
wasn't as nice as once, but I loved belle a lot. I as nice to read a twist of the fairy tales I've read as a child. ♥♥
This book and the rest in this Once Upon a Time series are not what I thought they would be. They are almost like YA chapter books. Unfortunately, that means that the stories will not be developed enough for me personally. I read the first book in this bind-up, Belle. It was pretty good. I would rate it 3 stars. I liked the characters and the writing, but by the time we met the Beast there weren't that many pages left and it was all rushed and anti-climactic. And this was the one that I wanted
I love fairytales, I really do. But these books just weren't... interesting to me.
Really enjoyed these - the first story with Belle and the Beast was my favorite though :)
