Chronicle Supposing Books From Harlem With Love

I keep coming back to reading novels  by K'wan because I enjoy the themes and characters. His novels are quick reads and full of drama. However, his writing is very assuming and seems to be tailored to a specific audience. For example, when writing about the setting he does not really give any background knowledge on the location/ what the setting "really"  looks and feels like. You are either familiar with what happens on 119th or not. Even so,  K'wan does have a recognizable East coast voice that seems to be true to the "streets" so his characters are believable.
It would be a good idea to have someone NOT from the East Coast read his novels in order to give a clear and concise critique of his writing and method of storytelling. I think it would be beneficial for him as a writer to take into consideration that his audience may not be "up on game", not all of his readers are from the East Coast. I have recently read a trilogy and a novel by two particular authors and needless to say, they appeared to be very knowledgeable about the setting of their novel yet at the same time are aware that their audience may spread farther than " Miami". Therefore, writing in such a way to paint a very descriptive account of the location. Last but not least, the "Typos"... the typos are so abundant that they distract the reader to the point  of confusion. The mistakes range from a character's name being misspelled to the gender of a character being misrepresented along with run-on sentences and spelling. With that said, K'wan is obviously doing  something right because as stated earlier, I seem to keep being reeled in and continue reading many  of his novels.

Im a fan of Kwan and his work, but this story was a miss, especially the narration. Shorty stammered at one point, stopped, then continued. Ive never cringed so hard at an audiobook. Ill give this story a second glance e-book style.

I really like the work of this author. This was a short read with an interesting story line.

Harlem is a young cat on the come up, nod will get rid of anyone that gets in his way. This is. Good short story with a few errors. That is the ONLY reason why I gave it 4 stars.

In 2002 K'wan hit the scene with his debut novel Gangsta, under Triple Crown Publications. It was the first novel released by the budding house and would eventually become the building block for what is now a multimillion dollar company. What started as a therapeutic release went on to become a part of urban-lit history and an Essence bestseller, as well as drawing rave reviews overseas. After

Diminished I Q Level The book was horribly written. Typos and all kinds of lingo that was had to understand. I wouldn't recommend this to an illiterate person!

The narrator was not the right fit for this novel. On several occasions she stumbled through the book throwing the reader off. Will have to back and read the novel to get the just of the story.
