I don't usually feel too old for YA books but their was a lot of teenage angst in all of these books. Atypical novels in that the vamps are the bad guys 90% of the time. But the mean girls are bad 100% of the time. Clair is almost 17-we hear that repeatedly through out all the books. I liked her from the beginning because she was innocent , extremely intelligent and stubborn. But of course characters change and she does. By book 8 she is part Buffy, and a little bit mean. This series was amazing. I mean WOW! At first, I was thinking it was going to be the juvenile kind of young adult. The kind of young adult that makes me feel at 21 I am too old to be reading young adult.. it was not. This series was mainly about Clarie and her journey as she became an adult. You get to read along as Claire and her boyfriend Shane, Best friends Eve and Micheal fight off death one event at a time in a small town in Texas called Morganville. In Morganville there is only one rule
The Morganville Vampire series are great reads. I became invested in these characters and they felt like family. Great books
